What that means in plain English
If you click a link on this site and buy something, the brand or retailer may compensate us with a commission or another benefit. The price you pay is the same as if you'd typed the URL in directly.
We use affiliate networks and partner programs including Amazon Associates, Awin, CJ Affiliate, Impact, Shopify Collabs, Skimlinks, Rakuten, and direct retailer programs. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
How affiliates affect our editorial process
They don't. Our review framework is set before publication, and we don't pre-negotiate a recommendation in exchange for a commission rate. If a product flunks, the review still goes up. If a product is a fit only for a narrow audience, we say that plainly.
What we never do
- Sponsored verdicts
- "Pay-to-be-included" best-pick lists
- Changing a published recommendation because of commission negotiations
- Hiding negative reviews of brands we have affiliate deals with
